Principal: Narender Oruganti
Narender Oruganti has more than 25 years of executive and managerial experience at leading-edge technology companies in the Silicon Valley.
Before joining 1st Wave Marketing, Narender co-founded Catura Broadband Systems, an Internet-based education services firm, serving as executive vice president. Following development of a multimedia platform for online delivery of classroom experience, the company enjoyed early market validation and gained the backing of Draper Fischer Jurvetson, a prominent Silicon Valley venture firm. Narender went on to build Catura's business team and establish the company in India. He continues as active board member of the company.
Prior to Catura, Narender served as Director of Marketing for the Appliance Software Division of Veritas Software, a $1.5B developer of data protection software, where he was responsible for marketing and product management of appliance software solutions. Before Veritas, Narender was a senior manager of marketing strategy for NetApp, a $5B storage manufacturer, overseeing marketing planning and pricing strategy for the company. He also served in product management and marketing roles during a period of explosive, early growth in which NetApp revenues grew from $39M to over $500M in four years.
Early in his career, Narender served in a variety of managerial roles in marketing and operations at Hewlett Packard, where he worked in the minicomputer, corporate desktop, laptop PC, server and home PC product divisions. At HP, Narender made several important business contributions to the creation of a new PC distribution model for the company. For this work, he received the company's top awards for excellence and leadership and was subsequently featured in PC magazine.
Narender holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Wayne State University, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India.
