A medium-sized semiconductor company with an innovative storage product concept sought assistance in evaluating a broad range of potential market opportunities ranging from enterprise systems to consumer electronic devices. Because the client lacked important skill sets and product and market knowledge for many of the opportunities under consideration, 1st Wave recommended that the company reduce the scope of its strategy. The product was brought to market later than planned, but because of focused efforts, the client has enjoyed modest commercial success, though it has yet to achieve market disruption.
