Principal: Larry Kubo
Experience & Expertise – Energy Technology. Larry developed expertise in alternative energy and hybrid automobile technologies providing technical evaluations for the civil programs division of the Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA.
As a federally funded research center (similar to RAND and MITRE), the Aerospace Corporation provided energy consulting services to the U.S. Departments of Energy and Transportation in the 1980s. This consulting covered alternative energy systems, energy conservation, and other technologies that have returned to prominence as oil price has spiked and global energy consumption has risen.
Larry’s evaluations included:
- Hybrid automobiles (including computer simulation of electric and gasoline-powered vehicles)
- Regenerative braking systems
- Automotive and residential energy storage systems
- Alcohol fuels and synthetic lubricants
- Alternative fuels
This work, combined with Larry’s educational background and early professional experience, provides a strong foundation for alternative energy businesses. His specialization in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and aerodynamics comprise central disciplines in renewable technologies such as solar, wind, geothermal, and ocean energy. In addition, he has operating experience with high-pressure steamplants, electric and diesel generators, and electrical distribution systems.
